TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA

TAG Heuer introduces the TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA: a premium Avant-Garde new series inspired by the motor-racing heritage and featuring unprecedented sophistication, performance and precision. It is powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre RS movements, the first mechanical line of movementes engineered with Rotating System indicators.

The TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA: Engineered by Passion

The TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA is a new premium collection of superlatively sophisticated timepieces inspired by the spirit of modern GT cars. Innovative and contemporary, its draws its DNA from the classic TAG Heuer Carrera collection born in 1964 and consistently reinterpreted ever since to become a TAG Heuer icon. The new TAG Heuer GRAND CARRERA embodies TAG Heuer’s unique motor-racing heritage and passion for Avant-Garde design and technologies. Amongst its many premium features is the ingenious GT car engine-inspired Rotating System, making it possible to replace conventional hands by a disk displaying functional information even more clearly on the dial.

TAG Heuer: The N° 1 luxury watch reference in motor racing and Grand Tourisme

The benchmark in cutting-edge chronographs and timekeeping technology since 1860, TAG Heuer is the Swiss watch brand with the longest-standing links to motor sports and dream cars

In 1911, TAG Heuer introduced the “Time of Trip”, the first dashboard for sports cars. In 1933 with the “Autavia”, a name standing for Automobile-Aviation, TAG Heuer introduced a revolutionary dashboard it would manufacture for more than 30 years. In 1964, TAG Heuer unveiled the first Carrera mechanical chronograph, a stunning masterpiece inspired by professional motor racing’s most grueling road race, the legendary Carrera Panamericana. Combining timeless elegance with high-performance functionality and unprecedented readability, the coveted chronograph worn by F1 icons such as Joe Siffert, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Ragazzoni, Mario Andretti, Carlos Reutemann, Jody Scheckter and Nicky Lauda later in the 1970s, embodied TAG Heuer’s unique combination of avant-garde design and technology.

But the legendary Carrera wasn’t the first example of TAG Heuer drawing inspiration from motor racing.

The Swiss watchmaking legend’s authentic link to motor-racing sports through its timekeeping activities, famous brand ambassadors and team sponsoring—from Juan-Manuel Fangio in the 1950s to Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton in 2007, and from F1 team Scuderia Ferrari in the 1970s to Vodafone-McLaren-Mercedes today—has always powered its unique creative drive, producing some of the most innovative and prestigious timepieces and timekeeping devices in history. For years, TAG Heuer has definitely been leading the race!

First watch brand to develop dashboard chronographs for sports cars at the beginning of the 20th century, first watch brand to partner racing drivers, first watch brand to partner a Formula 1 team, first and only watch brand to crack and master all time barriers, creating luxurious chronographs precise to within 1/10th of a second as in the Link Calibre 36, 1/100th of a second like the Carrera Calibre 360 and the Link Calibre S, and 1/1,000th of a second for the Microtimer. With these three levels of precision, TAG Heuer has set an unprecedented record and demonstrates its high-octane motor-racing DNA more powerfully than any other watch brand.

For more than a century, TAG Heuer has built its reputation on the core values and codes of motor sports and prestigious sports and Grand Tourism cars: advanced design and materials, high technology and high-performance movements, ultimate precision and unsurpassed reliability.

TAG HEUER & THE CARRERA COLLECTION: A UNIQUE HISTORY DRIVEN BY PASSION

The prestigious and pioneering history of the TAG Heuer Carrera began in the pits and paddocks of the racing circuit, and it continues to be one of the driving forces behind the brand today.

It all started in 1962 when Jack Heuer, who was serving as timekeeper in the Twelve Hours of Sebring, met two young and talented drivers, the Rodriguez brothers. They told him about a legendary race: the Carrera Panamericana Mexico Road Race. He was immediately struck by the name Carrera, which in his words, was “dynamic, elegant, easily pronounced in all languages and charged with emotion."

In 1964, he launched the first timepiece to carry the Carrera name. Since then, it has enjoyed timeless popularity and is now one of TAG Heuer most iconic and best selling series.

The TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA powered by exclusive TAG Heuer Calibre RS automatic movements.

With the TAG Heuer Grand CARRERA, TAG Heuer projects the Carrera DNA and spirit into the 21st century, with a bigger, bolder and better combination of design and technology than ever before, Inspired by motor racing’s never-ending rollout of technical and aesthetic innovations, TAG Heuer’s award-winning R&D team began working on the Grand Carrera project in 2005. The goal was not to substitute the iconic Carrera, but to expand it into new watchmaking territories and technologies, bringing it more in line with contemporary motor-racing styling and performance in general, and GT cars in particular. The result is the new GT engine-inspired Rotating System, a breakthrough technology that marks a completely new way to display time, powered by a new generation of exclusive movements : the TAG Heuer Calibre RS movements encompassing several Calibres from the simple and timeless mechanical watch to complex mechanical chronographs.

The Rotating System indicators are stunning to look at, with their high-luxury Côtes de Genève decorations and polished beveling. They are also one of the line’s most impressive innovations, as they enable the user to read small seconds, a second time zone and/or chronograph time effortlessly, intuitively and instantaneously, giving him at-a-glance, cockpit-fast access to the information he needs. The new TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Collection is a perfect expression of the subtle fusion of timeless elegance with the passion for mechanics and technical innovation.

 grifon

ormai del primo Carrera, il Mito, è rimasto solo il "Nome" !!!

Secondo Me, l'unica valida riedizione di questo "Modello" rimane quella degli anni '90, a carica Manuale... ovviamente (Lemania 1873)
