Vulcain discloses something of its historical mystery by presenting the Vulcain Golden Heart, an openworked watch revealing a finely engraved movement. Exquisitely crafted, the legendary Cricket calibre is distinguished by its meticulous finishing including bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève, circular-grained or polished plates, and blued screws. The surfaces of the twin barrels – one for the movement and the other for the striking mechanism – are adorned with a fine snailed motif to enhance the beauty of the horological vision they provide. The delicate intricacies of the gear-wheels, screws and bridges appear like a sculpture in motion. Available in a choice of charcoal grey or blue, the semi-openworked dial sets the finishing touch to this fascinating ballet with two symmetrically arranged circles linked by the hour-markers. The blued dauphine hour and minute hands and the alarm pointer are also openworked.
The Vulcain Cricket Calibre V-10, a mechanical hand-wound movement with two barrels – one for the movement and the other for the alarm mechanism – is endowed with a 42-hour power reserve and a 15-second alarm function. Equipped with Vulcain’s patented Exactomatic system ensuring enhanced regularity on the wrist, the proprietary Vulcain cricket movement drives the hours, minutes, seconds and alarm. It is housed within a polished steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 50 metres. A cambered glareproofed sapphire crystal on the dial side and a flat one on the case-back protect the movement, while enabling one to admire it at leisure. This captivating model is teamed with a Louisiana alligator leather strap with steel pin buckle.
