A worthy offspring of Vacheron Constantin’s 250th anniversary and the ultimate expression of the brand’s savoir-faire, the Patrimony Traditionnelle watch “Calibre 2755” is a truly exceptional model. Housing three major complications from the world of Haute Horlogerie, this quintessence of the art of watchmaking is the most accomplished demonstration of the Manufacture’s horological art and craftsmanship.

Based on the exceptional and truly striking showpiece of the 250th anniversary, the Tour de l’Ile, the Patrimony Traditionnelle watch “Calibre 2755” required over three years to create; it is now the most complicated model in the Manufacture’s catalogue.

The Minute Repeater is a blend of horological technology and romanticism that transforms time into music; besides eliminating the effects of gravity, the Tourbillon displays the charm of a diaphanous mechanism revealing the heart of the watch; the Perpetual Calendar, with its “memory of time to come”, follows the changes in the Gregorian calendar with no other operation necessary than adjusting the date every 100 years.

Always eager to push back the technical limits and concerned about making this multi-complication timepiece easier to use, Vacheron Constantin’s engineers and master watchmakers developed a centripetal speed-regulator in the striking-mechanism. This original device eliminates the noise interference normally experienced with pallet systems. What is more, special care has been taken to ensure that all the functions are clearly legible. Finally, extra-large counters and the subtle decentring of the hour and minute hands have further improved legibility while highlighting the Tourbillon cage.

The dial is an 18K gold plate. Considering the number of indications displayed, its legibility is excellent and its finishing, in several tones, is in the spirit of Vacheron Constantin’s historic models.

The case has been carefully designed and manufactured. Its generous dimensions - 44 mm in diameter – give the minute repeater a remarkable resonance, which is optimised by the ingenious use of a stud linking the case to the striking mechanism. And, thanks to its copper content, which gives it its colour, the 18K pink gold case adds to the quality of resonance.

The calibre 2755 manual-winding mechanical movement beats at 18,000 vibrations an hour and has a power reserve of approximately 58 hours. It is distinguished by the meticulous chamfering work of its bridges, with their Côtes de Genève decoration, and the circular graining of the plate. It is stamped with the prestigious Geneva hallmark, because the 2755 calibre meets the twelve demanding criteria of this symbol of durability and horlogical perfection.

Minute Repeater, Tourbillon and Perpetual Calendar: bringing these three major complications together in one timepiece represents a rarely accomplished exercise in style and expertise. Due to its complexity, the Patrimony Traditionnelle “Calibre 2755“ can only be produced in a very limited series.
