My watchmaker did wonder to bring back to life a 7928  M.N. watch with some serious wounds and I am very pleased with the result .

Thanks for looking,

Eric

Yes, I like it but it is "not OK"

The dial was damaged beyond any rescue possibilities and was refinished on the original plate.

The dial was redone as it was originally with 100m depth.

Cheers,

Eric

In the end of the 50's Marine Nationale was the only customer/tester for Tudor diving watches.

A lot of M.N. big crowns 7924 and early 7928 with square crown guard were born and issued with 100m dials.

I guess Rolex had some left over and didn't want to waste them.

As a result a lot of these watches were judged not correct and fitted by collectors with later 200m dials from 60's Tudor 7928.

The only problem is that those dials are slightly smaller (half a millimeter)  than the earlier 100M or 200m dials so on those watches you can notice a tiny gap between the dial and case....

I would always go for a 100m meter large plate dial rather than a small plate 200m dial with the tiny gap ...

Cordialement,

Eric
